Gibbiceps Pleco - Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps

Origin: Eastern Peru, South America
Temperament: Peaceful.
Care: Vegetable based sinking pellets should be fed at night. Zucchini is also readily accepted. A very large tank is required and driftwood is compulsory for maximum health. The Gibbiceps Pleco is nocturnal and will hide during the day.
Temperature Range: 23-28C
pH: 6.5-7.5
Potential Size: 45cm
Breeding: Very difficult. Tank conditions must be perfect. Use aged water with a pH of 7.0 and a higher temperature of 27C. A very large hollow log is preferred for laying eggs in. Much algae is required if the fry are to survive. The fry are also susceptible to white spot.
Sex: Not possible to determine.
